Bike to Duluth! is a free, self-supported, Randonneuring Style cycling event where cyclists bike roughly 170 miles from the Twin Cities to Duluth, Minnesota.
Officially, Bike to Duluth! starts at Father Hennepin Bluffs park (420 SE Main St Mpls) and ends near the lift bridge in Canal Park, Duluth. More details on the official ending location (and after party) will be available soon.
This is a freestyle experience, feel free to start and end your Bike to Duluth! experience anywhere along the suggested route. As long as you are biking to Duluth, you are doing it right.

Riders should be ready to leave Father Hennepin Bluffs Park at 6:00 am.
Fair question. It’s just epic! It’s a prefect combination of mental and physical challenge, risk, and reward.
Anyone can join! If you feel like you're capable and want to do it, go for it!
PLEASE NOTE: this is a self-supported event. You are responsible for your safety and need to plan accordingly. Having a support crew (someone with a car who can pick you up) is highly recommended for Bike to Duluth!
Registration opens April 25th, there will be a google form to fill out and a liability waiver to sign.
YES!
This helps us make this free event as awesome as possible. We use registration to determine how many people are actually participating and how many swag bags we need. Registering is also how you enter the prize drawing. If you do not register you will not receive a swag bag or be entered to win any door prizes!
To win a door prize, you must be a registered participant, complete the entire ride (from Minneapolis to Duluth) and check-in at the finish line. Door prizes are given out at random, you just need to register and complete the ride.
All registered participants will receive a "swag bag" at the end of the ride and are encouraged to join us at the finish line and celebrate their accomplishment.

The organizers of BTD love long distance cycling events, so we made our own. That being said, there is no wrong way to Bike to Duluth! Feel free to start wherever you like and take as long as you want. As long as you're biking to Duluth, you're doing it right!
This is a go at your own pace event. We do not have speed groups and this is NOT a no drop ride. While we encourage people to form groups, don’t expect anyone to hold back or hang on. This is about 170 miles, do what makes sense for you.
That is entirely up to you.
Some people may get a ride from a friend, others may ride back on their bike. If you need assistance getting back from Duluth please indicate so on your registration. We will do our best to find you and your bike a ride back to the Twin Cities, however, we cannot guarantee your return transportation.
Again, that is entirely up to you.
Last year we had a lodging partner, but this year we do not as of yet. Hostel du Nord (who was our partner last year) is an affordable option in town, otherwise there are many hotels or campgrounds around.
If you need assistance with lodging, please indicate so on your registration. We will do our best to help find you a place to stay but can't guarantee anything.
This is a rain or shine even, so plan your gear and bail plan accordingly.
It is!
Our first year was 2024, and we plan to have it as long as people keep showing up.
